VRC-40 RAWHIDES - Sundown Book

As many of you know, I'm currently working on my next book project, focused on the upcoming sundown of VRC-40 in the summer of 2026.
Like the VRC-30 book, this one follows a similar structure: it begins with the history of the squadron, followed by an overview of Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD) operations.

The next section highlights the aircraft operated by VRC-40 over the decades— including the Grumman C-1A Trader, the North American CT-39 Sabreliner used for VIP transport, and of course the mighty 

Grumman C-2A Greyhound.

Where available, I’ve included photos from deployments, followed by a comprehensive overview of every C-2A flown by VRC-40.

That’s the general outline.

Now to the gaps in information, where I would truly appreciate any additional support.
