I wounder why the same Grumman C-2A Greyhound received different side numbers in a short time difference. I have no idea why they were given with the specific number? Here we have BuNo 155121 of the VRC-50, both landing at Asugi with Side Number 404 and 407. Later it became 422, too. Could somebody bring light into this?

Grumman C-2A Greyhound BuNo 152796 from the VRC-50, FOO DOGS onboard the USS Bennington in 1968. One year later this aircraft crashed after departure from Luzon Island-Cubi Point on the fly to USS Constellation. A very rare photo from Bill Copeland. RIP LT Herbert H. Dilger; LT Richard A.
